blurr.eth deploys the $N token contract. The contract is themed on Robert Frost’s poem “Fire and Ice” (referenced by title only) and ties $N and $RFD together — “fire” ($RFD) and “ice” ($N). The on-chain code describes a bound supply curve: a new token becomes mintable each block, with a “doubling” every four years, trending toward roughly ~21,000,000 over ~92 years.
Since the OG days, minting $N has been a competitive “mint war” — automated minter bots race to grab each block’s newly-available token. The community has long speculated that some of the OG minter bots are linked to blurr.eth directly, pointing to timing and deployment patterns shared with blurr’s known OG transactions (this remains community theory, not confirmed). “Horatio” became the community’s shorthand for these bots after blurr.eth sent an on-chain message to a prolific minter (0x0592…8dac) quoting Hamlet: “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” See it — and blurr’s other replies — on the History Wall.
CryptoPunk #9998 triggers a sale alert for 124,457 ETH (~$532M) — one of the most talked-about moments in CryptoPunks history. It was not a real sale: a single transaction flash-borrowed the funds, “bought” the punk from its own owner, and repaid the loan atomically. The transaction’s input data carries the on-chain note “‘looks rare’ - blurr n’ arr00”, tying blurr to the moment. CryptoPunk #9998 is the nblurr mascot (the game avatar).
blurr.eth deploys $RFD (Refund) and keeps none of it — at launch the entire supply is placed into the Uniswap v3 pool for absolute fairness. $RFD is hyper-deflationary: a portion of every transaction is permanently removed from circulation and locked away (“Purgatory” in Blurr’s Locker) via the v3 fee mechanism. Holding nothing and burning into locked liquidity — rather than cashing out — is the clearest on-chain signal of long-term commitment to the community over a quick money grab.
